Forge A Legacy...

So, I suppose this is going to come as absolutely no surprise to many of you, but events have unfolded today that will mean that I will not be reopening the LWA as an e-fed. Not now, and not ever. There are a couple of reasons for this, but I'm not going to use the second reason to try and overshadow the first... so here it is.

The LWA as a brand is broken, and it's my fault. My past failed attempts to reopen it, and to try and recapture the spirit it found in 2007, have done more damage to my credibility as a fed-head than I had previously thought. Many of the people I have approached in recent days have told me that despite any good ideas or concepts that the LWA might have this time around, like the boy who cried wolf there are just too many people in the e-fedding community who don't have faith in my ability to resurrect the LWA, and that stance has already effected my ability to draw people to the fed.

Don't get me wrong. I'm still pretty well respected in the community... but the idea of a reopened LWA? Not so much.

I take all the blame for this myself.

I do want to thank the eight individuals who walked right back in the door and signed up, and showed faith in me. It does mean a lot, especially some of those eight were people who I haven't always seen eye-to-eye with in the past.

That being said, I had three options... I could try to relaunch LWA anyway, ignoring the odds stacked against it, or I could start a brand new fed, new name, and see if that would shed some of the stigma attached to the LWA, or I could take the energy and the resources I was going to put into the LWA and devote those energies to another, existing fed as a staff member.

Ergo...

Cody is coming back to eWo, and we have discussed my being the Joe Biden to his Obama. We haven't settled on exactly what my role or responsibility would be, but it would definitely entail promoting the eWo as I have done in the past, and generating hype and some advertising for the fed. Cody has also expressed interest in using some of the ideas I had planed on using in the LWA here in eWo... much in the way that the DBS & the 'Mr. Plow' rule are already being used. I'd really like to bring the Move Index over to eWo, for one.

My joining the staff of the LWA would mean my shelving Kyle Cross, as I have long been an opponent of e-fed staff handling active characters.

In any case, I wanted to open this up to discussion. I didn't throw my name in the hat back when Cody was looking for someone to take over the eWo because I know how some of the people in this fed would have reacted to my being in charge here, and I respect Cody and this fed too much to do anything that would damage it.

That being said, Cody & I have worked well together for years, and come up with some epic ideas together. Even the failures were pretty good (CAW).

I think that my working with Cody here in eWo could produce spectacular results... but it's really up to all of you, I don't want to do something that's going to cause more static than good in the end.
